If you're using O2 (UK) network can you check if SMS delivery notification is working?
 

As title said.

I can't get SMS delivery notification to work on O2 (UK) but it does on T-Mobile (UK)

Can other O2 (UK) users here confirm this?

i leave it off, as it's a waste of battery, and just put *0# at the start of every message I want a delivery report for

Try it, send your girl a text with:

*0#Hello


Of course, because youre texting a girl and their phones are glued to their hands/checked every 37 milliseconds, youll probably get a reply before the delivery report, but a text comes through from o2 saying:

Message 1234 to NUMBER submitted TIME delivered TIME text:Hello...

I had an o2 UK contract for 5 years, delivery notification didn't work on any of the phones I had in that period. I think it is an issue with the network (o2) rather than the N900 itself

O2 does NOT have delivery notification like 3 and vodafone do.

So does not work

incidentally, I switched it on, sent a text.. no delivery conf as yet

but I do seem to recall seeing them on my n900 once upon a time because I know that they come in as a swooshing yellow notification..

Maybe you were abroad and roaming? Using network that has delivery notification supported.

Open Conversations, tap top menu, then Settings
You'll be able to tick the 'Receive SMS delivery reports here

I know 110% O2 UK does NOT support this, period.

I contacted O2 customer support about 2 years after changing from vodafone only to be told O2 don't support this but he did tell me of a code to put at the beginning of the text, but i costs the other party a text message. sorry cant remember the code.
