Problems loading extras Devil
 

Hi

I really want to be able to mms on my N900, however, it seems that the only apps are Extras Devil. I've read there are risks associated with these installs but am prepared to give it a go. I'm a new use to Maemo but thought I could give most things a go! Until I tried to access the Extras Devil libriary! I read the instructions, but it comes up with an error. Extras testing seems to work ok, although I dont notice any new apps in the list.
Does anyone have any ideas Its not blocked somehow is it?

Also, didnt find the istructions to using an install file on this site very helpful. when I try just selecting the install file it opens up the app manager and then says there is an error. Any pointers on this one too?

Well head over to the fmms thread and read about it more and do your research and see if it's going to mess up your N900 or not then decide to download it or not.. I personally don't have any problems with fMMS, but don't take my word for it..

btw it's extra devel not devil.. :D devel short for developer

Everyone starts out as a newbie, no worries. Be adviced that you might damage your System when trying new stuff without knowing what you do, though. So save yourself some time and do regular backups in case of an emergency (re-flash).

Does it specify what kind of error occurs?

ps: it's devel as in development, not devil as in satan ;)

thanks guys! I'm dyslexic and read what I want to read, not whats there! would never have picked that up otherwise! I put Freemantle first too! instead of fremantle!

oh by the way, how do i install a program using a downloaded *.install file? or a *.tgz?

Lol - we have all done that!!! - freemantle just sounds so much better :)

fmms i personally feel is working, the big issue for some is having to manually connect to the mms connection.

But i do agree with the above, get over to the fmms thread, read how it got to where it is :D
