Press the key with the blue arrow (middle row, far left) and then Control. An onscreen palette with extra characters will appear.

I'm using a UK keyboard - if you're using a different locale/layout it may be different, but that's not my area of expertise.

naa its not doing it - dunno y press alt n ctrl nuffin - i in uk 2 - confused!
did u download anything to have have extra things in xterminal ( sure i seen a dl for that ) |

You don't press the Alt key. You have to have the terminal or a text editor or something open when you do this.
Just hold down the blue arrow key and release it, then hold down the Sym key (which is also the Ctrl key on my keyboard) and release it. A screen that gives you a few characters to choose from should pop up. |

still no luck - i have tryed both methods - will have a look into it 2mz. thank you both for ur help tho.

I hold the blue arrow and press Sym / Ctrl, but pressing one and then the other works for me too. Mine is a US model.
