/home full but no large files HELP

I have an n900 that has no free space in the /home folder yet when I list the contents, there are no large files taking up the 2gb of space. I have run storage util and that doesnt show anything out of the ordinary. Running df /home shows the following....

Filesystem 1k-blocks used avail used mount
/dev/mmcblk0p2 2064208 1959352 0 100% /home

the rootfs has loads of space, so Im completely confused as to where all the disk space has gone......

What does "du -hsx /home" say?

# du -hsx /home reports the following:

142.6m /home

Looks like filesystem corruption then. Unfortunately it's not easy to check /home as it can't be unmounted (and problems have been reported with trying to add a fsck during boot). I'd advise backing up, making a copy of everything in MyDocs to a PC, then reflashing the eMMC.

Before thinking of filesystem corruption... a classic feature of Unix filesystems is that the storage space allocated to an unlinked file does not get deallocated before all programs having the file open closes it.

I assume you have rebooted your machine, to see if free space suddenly becomes available?

So it turns out that after rebooting the problem still exists. Also re flashing the rootfs didnt fix the issue either. Ultimately, Ive had to put this down to filesystem corruption and reflash the eMMC. I can now confirm that after flashing the eMMC everything is working again YAY! Fortunately this wasnt my phone that was affected but at least I learnt how to reflash the devices should the need arise! Thanks everyone for your help 8)
