If he wanted an app like ccleaner why didn't he post in the other threads about ccleaner?

:D

What i'd like to see in a post is what someone is actually looking for, and not make use guess to at the question to provide an answer :D

(He could have just searched the forums for healthcheck and asked in my thread....) - very much doubt a search was involved though.

He'd have to know ccleaner to do that though...

Hi noobmonkey, thanks for your healthcheck app, which is great. The idea is simple, e.g. I think (am an n00b to linux) there are a list of files which required to run the OS, are they all in correct place? working in the correct order? system security check etc. Hope I am not talking non-sense.

Thanks

You can check system file integrity against their md5 sums in /var/lib/dpkg/info/*.md5sum. Unfortunately the command line tool debsums ( http://transit.iut2.upmf-grenoble.fr...html?1+debsums ).
is not packaged yet, /usr/bin/md5sum is there though.

Cheers.
