There is a working Map Loader for N900 - Read this fix
 

I just saw the "enough with the fake news:map loader for n900" thread so I'm making a new one so that people know that it is working.

I have no affiliation with the blog/website I'm linking, I just did what they said and it worked 100% for me. Maps is a lot faster and I thought I should share it with you guys

It seems like it needs windows for it to work. Anyway of doing it with Linux? There is no PC Suite for Linux system.

Before I found that fix I used the method described in your post. It didn't work well. only a part of my map was preloaded.

Anyway since map loader is not available on linux I do recommend that but if you have windows I strongly recommend using the fix.
