Run osso-backup without GUI?
Hi All,
Is it possible to run the osso-backup program without using GUI? I would like to schedule a backup using the osso-backup program and run it nightly. I plan to use Fcrontab to exec osso-backup. Normally, I use the default setting in the backup program as shown by GUI that is backing up everything. And also use the default of the backup file name. I need help in executing the osso-backup using the command line instead. Thank you. |
Re: Run osso-backup without GUI?
Why don't you make your own script for backup? I have it set up this way, but I don't think that it's possible with osso-backup.

Re: Run osso-backup without GUI?
Help please. I need to know the location/folder of these files e.g. contact folder, bookmark, system setting, application etc.that the installed N900's backup program backed it up. These will be used for my nightly backup.
Thanks. |

I assume no one has any new information on this - I am, also looking for something of the sort (I would rather not recreate the wheel but use the built-in osso-backup functionality instead).

Re: Run osso-backup without GUI?
Here's a thread where I posted a script to backup /home/user/ (excluding MyDocs). I believe all the things you want to backup are in the /home/user directory. Worst case, it'd be 1.9GB, mine runs around 200-300MB.
It backs up to the MyDocs/tmp directory, easily changeable, so if you're already backing up your MyDocs, just run it first. You can also backup /opt as well. You ought to be able to exclude other directories if you want as well to reduce size. |
Re: Run osso-backup without GUI?
Has anybody figured this one out with osso-backup?
