N900 + Vodafone + Ubuntu = mobile Internet?
Hey Ho.
I'm currently using Ubuntu for the first time in my life - so I'm a little weak in using all it's features and that's probably the reason why I'm having this problem :D I'm owning the N900. I use Vodafone D2 (explicitly it's 'Black and Mine') as a provider. And it's Ubuntu 9.10 - Karmic Koala. I'm connection my N900 via the data cable to my laptop. The connection manager recognizes my mobile. I tell him it is a vodafone-connection. It connects (first the symbol of the network connection manager turns into a cycle and is spinning around, then its the antenne with 5/5 bars). But as I call google.de nothing happens - he just "Waits for google.de". In the settings I can see the dial-up-configuration which are set to: Number: *99# Username: vodafone Password: vodafone APN: web.vodafone.de Does anyone know how to use the N900 + Ubunutu + Vodafone for mobile internet? A friend of mine is using the N900 + Ubuntu + o2 (german provider) and he can access the internet via cable, bluetooth and WLAN -.- Many thanks in advance !! |
