Hi,
Mine does the same. It says it is connected, but in fact it doesn't work. I have to disconnect, then connect again to make it work again. This might be a router-specific issue.

Mine does this, but seemingly not all the time.

The Wi-Fi Access Point is D-Link DWL-2100AP. It is protected with a WPA2 TKIP key, and the DHCP feature is disabled.
The AP is connected to a TP-Link R860 router (which does the DHCP) along with some other computers, and some others are connected to the network through the AP.
This way, all the computers on the network get an IP address from the same router and can see each other.

I think this happens when your router does not support power saving mode properly. You can change that in the connection specific settings for each wlan you use. However, not having the power saving mode on, will eat up the battery pretty fast if you stay connected for a longer while. I bought a new router just because of this (dir-855), was well worth every penny.

Re: wifi problem

Well, the Wi-Fi AP seems to see the N900 as "connected" (it appears on the client list, and it only recognizes it disconnected when I press the "disconnect" button on my N900), so it seems that the cable router is to blame.
I'll try to update the firmware on them, and see it it helps. (Actually, after enabling "Super G" on the AP it seems to be better already.)

Just for the record:
After updating the firmware of the DWL-2100AP (its current version is 2.50), enabling the Link Integrity function and Super G, the N900 hasn't had any issues.

Okay, so I think that all I wrote before was some sort of placebo effect.

The N900 still frequently drops connections. Although it reports that it is connected, no data is transferred, and I have to disconnect and connect again. After a random time (usually between a 10 minutes - 1 hour interval) it just stops working again, although it still says that it is connected.

I tried it with both PSM enabled and disabled. The transmission power is set to max for the AP and the N900 as well.

Another issue is, that both my and my brother's laptop sees the WLAN with max signal strength in the house, but the N900 barely recognizes it.

Is there a possibility that I have a faulty WLAN module?
