I'm not sure why either, but I use CopSSH. And it's worked flawless for me... I've been able to connect to my home computer from all over the world so I can upload/ download pictures and streamvideo.

If you are going to ask for help, at least format your question in a less annoying way.

N900 - running what?
Vista - running what?

What is the network connectivity between the two - where does the internet fit in to this?

i think i have seen this problem here before, if I recall it had something to do with a power setting on the router. i would see what power settings are available on your routers firmware. possibly even assign you n900 a permanent IP.

I have routable IP but the IP is not changing until I restart the router....if is the problem from the connection between machines....can I connect PC-Phone with USB cable?if yes....how can I do theat?

From what I can gather from what you are saying, the internet aspect of the router and its IP is not relevant.

You are going Laptop->Wifi->Router->Wifi->N900?

The first thing to do is to plug the laptop directly into the router with a cable, and see if you still get a drop out after 1 minute.

In your router settings under DHCP there will be an option to assign a static IP address for your n900 and laptop. This is what timwatt is referring to. This is worth doing in any case otherwise the IP addresses will change over time and you'll need to keep checking they haven't.

Wifi power saving can cause the N900 to become very unresponsive to incoming traffic such as SSH and SCP with some types of routers.

You can keep the Wifi active while you are using SSH by opening an xterm on the N900 and leaving a ping command running that is pinging your router. You need to be root to run ping.

You can also go into the Wifi settings for that connection and disable power saving, but that will cause the battery to run down quickly when you are connected to a Wifi connection with power saving disabled.

The power saving option is fairly hard to find. You need to press "Edit" in that connection's settings page and press "Next" three times to get to the last page then press "Advanced", select the "Other" tab and set "Power saving" to "Off".

I hope this helps.
