Need for Speed (NEW one's)
Hi, :o
I am a newbie so pelase bare with me. I was wondering if anyone is working on some racing games like NFS - Carbon, Shift or any new one's. Or do we already have it here in this forum. I would also like to have informations about 'Sims 2009.' I think our N900 geniuses should developd some EA sports games for the N900 OS, if they are not developed yet. Thanks, :) |
Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
There's no way these games would run in n900

Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
If you are talking about EA-specific titles (Madden, NFS, etc), then you need to talk to EA about porting those games to maemo/meego because they're holding the copyright and all related licenses to said franchises.
If you just want something that looks like them... well, afaik, there aren't any opensource games that look like them. The shortest way to getting similar looking games will probably be to look for iPhone/Android developers with the kind of games that you like and talk them into developing/porting something for maemo/meego. |
Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
Sounds like he's asking if there are any NFS type games available for the n900.
On the other hand, he/ she's asking for you to create sports titles for EA. :) |
Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
What about Road and track NFS 1 isn't this open source?
|
Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
No, it isn't. No recent EA product is open source.

Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
NFS 1 road & track was released in 1994. Do you think this could be open source??

Re: Need for Speed (NEW one's)
Absolutely not. It isn't going to happen.

In theory, it might be possible to port TORCS, but that's more of a racing sim than the NFS series. And I bet it would be a huge undertaking.
