Be notified when she shows up online
I really spend to much time enabling my screen to see if there's a green bullet below her picture now...
Is there a way to have a sound notification when the status of a specific contact changes to online? Cheers, reto |
Re: Be notified when she shows up online
You know, that is a pretty good suggestion. I don't think it is already built in, though.

I don't know about Conversations, but I use Pidgin for MSN and other IM protocols on my N900. And Pidgin has "buddy pounce".

Sorry, I haven't tried customizing them... I just knew they are there.

Re: Be notified when she shows up online
I'd suppose Telepathy announces status changes on the DBUS so using dbus-scripts and a small script this should be rather easy (one can send notification messages via dbus as well).
Alternatively yet-another-dbus-listening daemon could be made (pros: no need to install dbus-scripts just for this, no need to spawn shell for your action script. cons: yet another background process running). I sometimes obsessed over the status of people too... |
