Is it possible to install apps on Ubuntu?
Maemo has some really great, simple, strait forward applications. In some cases I like my Maemo apps better than the ones on Ubuntu. I was wondering if it is possible to install Maemo apps on Ubuntu...and if so how? I think id be much more productive if i didnt have to switch gears every time i sat in front of my laptop.

No. The problem is simple, the architecture. If you install Ubuntu on your Nokia, maybe. On your laptop, no!!!!!

You can run them in scratchbox on the Maemo SDK!

Re: Is it possible to install apps on Ubuntu?
I saw the SDK in my traveling of this site, i am assuming that runs the application in a emulated maemo desktop window on the system scratch box is installed on.
I could live with this...but i have zero development experience, how do i go about installing the SDK on my system? i am running 9.10 of Ubuntu. I found the install instructions in the wiki a bit confusing in general. |
