Question about the loose USB ports
 

Okay so I've heard all kinds of reports about loose USB ports on N900s that need to be sent back. Now my question is, if this happened to you, where was your device made? (Finland, Korea or China).

All preproduction N900 are made in Finland
All retail N900 are made in Korea
The Usb problem is fixed now for news N900 and concerns only a part of old N900 (For what I saw,the problem seem to be more present with some keyboard localisations)

All N900 are made in Korea. No mine is rock solid still.

How to know where ones N900 was made and when it left a factory?

On the box should say Korea. Behind the battery should also say made in Korea. This is where it was made before left factory.

So there is no free access database, where one could check with an IMEI number when the device left the factory?
Or at least, if the device was ready in 2009 or 2010?
Would think, after some date, all USB-connectors are extra checked in the factory.

I don't think nokia would release such info. Also releasing databases with IMEI's are potentially dangerous since you can clone the IMEI to other cell phones.

... the imei uniquely identifies a phone.

...people who nick phones will get the IMEI changed to a legit one so that the phone can be used on a network again. Where better to get IMEIs from than a list?
