media player and music files
 

usually the n810 would refresh and get all the audio files from both internal and extrenal memory and play it through media player, just by turning on media player.
now it wont.... it just says "no clips found"..
so i was just wondering if anyone had this problem, and known how to fix it.

I might not be the best person to help this but I'm assuming it uses the same tracker that's on the N900.
Try "tracker-processes -r" in terminal (without the quotes)

On my machine metalayer-crawler gives Segmentation fault:

No need to re-flash - install the Community SSU

This will fix the Metadata-crawler which indexes the media files for the built in player.

If you want to run it manually, start xterm, and then type the command

mediaplayer : empty library bug (diablo)

I upgraded but it still segfault, should i (re)install other packages ?

Ok I'll test this, untilI found a way to revert the confirguration that was working, any idea on why it stopped to work ?

Looks like you are using the Foreground option, which never worked for me either.

in an xterm try

metalayer-crawler -c /media/mmc2/Music

obviously change the path to suit the location of your music. If you want to monitor progress run top (q to quit), and you should see the crawler process run.
