custom smilies in Gaim
 

has anyone used their own smiley theme in Gaim?

In Preferences- Interface-Conversations-Smiley Themes
it says "New themes can be installed by dragging them onto the theme list."

I have my theme in a tar.gz file but have no idea how to drag and drop it from File manager onto the theme list in Gaim.

So, maybe there is another way to manually extract the files but having no idea how to get around on the files that File Manager does not show me I don't know how to do that either.

Do I have to get my hands dirty and use some terminal app or something? .. off to research..

I can't even get the default smileys to work on the tablets...

Did you go to Preferences- Interface-Conversations-Smiley Themes
and click on the "Default - Penguin Pimps" set.

After I did that, I could see the smilies in the chat.

I'll look again. I thought I'd checked everything; maybe not.
