Installation Problems

When i try to install QTIrreco i get an error saying that it cannot install because i need newer versions of "libqt4".

But when i try to update them in xterminal i get this message telling me they are up to date.

It's the same problem when i try to install the "simple brightness applet" - i get the error that "libhildon1" isn't up to date. But i get the same "libhildon1 is already the newest version."

Can anybody help?

may be you have to wait for upcoming pr1.2 update...

I don't think thats the problem, because before i sent it off to nokia (to fix my slider) i had both these apps installed fine.

I might reflash it today and see if that fixes it...

so the apps you mentioned haven't been updated at all since you sent it off to nokia?

That, i don't know.

How can i see what version of libhildon1 and libqt-gui/libqt-network i have? (using xterminal i assume, but don't know how)

OK, i've reflashed it. reloaded my backup and installed all the apps again.

I still can't install Xournal and Simple Brightness Applet, but now, i also can't install Desktop Command Execution Widget.

I've included some xterminal results and screenshots of the errors.

I'm running the latest PR 1.1.1 firmware, the same as everybody else, so why are these files not up to date for the apps?
Surely people developing the apps (i.e. DCE Widget) won't be making dependencies higher than the n900 has so far?

Wait for PR1.2.
Or give me 10 mins and I'll repackage a PR1.1.1 package.

Edit: I already packaged Xournal: http://mohammadag.ucoz.com/maemo/xou...tle2_armel.deb

The SDK and autobuilder are running PR1.2, so any packages built on them won't work with PR1.1.1. Disable extras-devel if you don't want problems.

p.s. What is the reason for my problems? Is it that your making the apps for PR 1.2 already, or something else?

So if i disable extras-devel, it will find the older versions and install properly on pr 1.1.1 i assume? - Yes, does for DCE anyway. cheers.
