I can't get the ~ key to work on my keyboard.. its greenFN+' but it prints a *... what gives? Anyone else with this keyboard have their ~ working?

Works OK for me, in Xterminal, Leafpad, Opera etc.

I'm using the Stowaway Universal (the 160 gram one that folds in two, four rows of keys, model XTBTUE), if that makes a difference.

(edit)
But I've just noticed you have an N800. I have the 770.

Interesting... I´m using the N800. The tilde is a shifted key on my stowaway Sierra (the one that folds into four pieces.) (Shifted-backtick key) When I try to type it, I get an asterisk. I also have fun with the tickmark key. I have to type it twice to get it to appear.

Thanks fir the tip. Sure enough, the keyboard profile was set to "Nokia SU-8W." Changing the profile to "Generic 105 key PC" fixed my problems.

Yes.
(Yes, yes, yes, yes. Stupid minimum charcter requirement)

Be careful not to buy the QWERTZ version, which has obviously a HID implementation bug (a lot of keys send the same key code whether Fn(green)-shifted or not (tested with xev). The QWERTY version does not suffer from this problem, but the green printings on the key caps are very difficult to recognize (QWERTZ: much brighter green).

Actually, I do have a QWERTZ Stowaway (dishonest eBay seller; 'nuff said), and I've been looking for some way to re-mark the keys and turn it into a "normal" QWERTY. Homemade stickers seem to be the way to go, but it's not that easy to find the Stowaway's QWERTY layout in the first place.

Strange, really. I've tested 3 fresh units in the shop and xev showed unchanged key codes for the last 2 rows with and without Fn-green. Then I verified this by installing the kb as HID with Windows XP - Fn-green for these rows was also ignored! No problems occured on a pocket pc with drivers.

Since the keys for which the modifier Fn-green is ignored coincide with those keys on the QWERTY version which have NO green labels I suspect that their HID implementation for the new QWERTZ keyboard version has bugs.

Karel, it sounds as if this is not the case with your unit. So what about, say keys in the asdf row - do you obtain different chars with and without Fn-green??
