N900 problems
 

Hello,
I thought I put all my questions in a single thread.
1. I can not access themes. when i press themes nothing happens.
2. When I try to ssh, putty or use VNC I can not connect unless I ping my PC, and connections drops often when connected.
3. Is VNC viewer that slow? it is like 1FPS.
4.I installed sygic maps form a .deb file, all the "turn left" and other voice commands are now on my music player mixed between music.
5.Any one know Open Arena? How do I exit that game?

Can't access themes? Sounds like you need a reflash, and I think #2 and #3 may be related.

#4 is caused by tracker-indexer coming with a stupid configuration. You need to customize ~/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg. Basically I set it to only index folders where I keep my media files, and some default folders. If you tell me where you keep your music, videos and photos I can help you come up with a better configuration.

Can't help you with #5, but Ctrl-Backspace is the usual way out.

Do you think I should re-flash now or wait for 1.2 ?
I was also unable to press stop on my alarm clock, I had to turn off the device... No more extras-devel for me I guess :D

strg or shift or fn(blue arrow) + one button betwen shift & space = esc

If you REALLY want to try devel apps, the best thing to do is be VERY careful. Don't install a bunch at once (this way you know if something specific has messed up your device) and once you installed what you want DISABLE the repository. That way you won't get untested updates.

The quality of applications is much better once they actually reach testing anyway and if they're good enough they get promoted there pretty quickly. Remember the devel repository is just that; software under development! If the developer doesn't think it's ready for use then chances are, it isn't ready for use.
