Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
If I were to make a maemo for dummies book. I want to keep it plain and simpe and the easiest explanation for the most important things... what opinions on what should be told in the book??(Hypothetical)

Re: Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
What pops into my mind at this hour, for whatever reason, is this:
One thing I sometimes come across on talk.maemo.org (TMO) is questions about porting some proprietary (closed source) program or game to maemo. Therefor, a brief explanation of architecture (x86 vs arm), binaries/source code, proprietary/Free Open Source Software (FOSS), would possibly be appropriate, in my humble opinion. |
Re: Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
Point them to the Wiki ;)

Seriously it could be a good idea if it was well thought out. A lot of it can be found in the wiki :) - but having it well written and easy to navigate would be a bonus :D Are you thinking maemo, or maemo 5? - could be a big subject if the first :D |

Re: Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
People who dismiss the idea of Maemo for Dummies could use a dummies book for themselves, especially those who moan and whinge about users who don't RTFM!!!!
Then they are the first to debunk the idea of users actually buying an FM. (this message is not directed at the hilarious Maemo for Dummies illustration) |
Re: Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
i would like to have an easy instuction to maemo 5. the wiki and the forum here is sometimes very disturbing. i had about ten trys for overclocking my device :D.

Re: Maemo for Dummies 1st Edition
Yes still putting stuff together. It seems like a great idea. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Im working with friends on structure and organization. Havent been around for a while on here, but still love Maemo. For coding and such, Meego will be the same right? Such as x term and all that?
