[Announce] CenterIM (With OTR) in extras-devel
 

I want a IM client with otr support, yes, we have pidgin but it's heavy and buggy ( al least in maemo ). So i decided to compile and package centerim with otr support. Now is in extras-devel.

Why?

• Low cpu usage
  
  Low ram usage (~4mb)
  
  Otr (for me, main reason)

Notes:

• to view it well you have to zoom out the terminal
  
  enter is ctrl+m (maemos fault, not centerim)
  
  For me it make a mess to my contacts alias
  
  Yes, it is a terminal application

to-do:
• Optify
• launcher
• package description
• bugtracker
• icon in packag manager

Like always, if you install packages from extras devel a baby will cry, i'm not responsible of any damage.

Note: I'm a noob uploading to extras and packaging for maemo.

I've just edited my initial post to answer your questions. It's a terminal IM but (at least for me) is not so bad as it sounds. And thanks to this is very light compared to pidgin.

I just saw that centerim only support OTR for jabber..


Anyone know another nice IM program that supports MSN AND OTR ?

Pidgin latest OTR plugin on the N900 doesn't work anymore :(
