camera slider crunch. broken. question...
 

I slideded the camera slider this morning and heard a crunch. now it slides open / closed, but it's not spring assisted like it used to be. I'm going to a nokia store this saturday. will the nokia store be able to give me a replacement on the spot?

or will this have to become a nokia care issue thing....

I had the same thing happen to mine. I was able to pull the black cover off, reinstall the spring and glue it back together. Took a little while to figure out the spring though.

yeah I will probably do that next. I jus hope the Nokia store will be kind enough to give me a back cover. possibly from a display model? or maybe they can order it, and I can come back a week later and get it replaced.

What would be really cool is to get that blue piece, create a mould of it, and create some custom colored ones with a plastics injection device. Black might be best to reduce camera haze. Maybe white? Custom colors?

ok I just called the Nokia Flagship Store in New York.. he was quite the *** hole. haha. but he said they don't do repairs there. and they would have to send it away.. really? ..for just the back cover?? I even asked if I could just have the back cover from a display phone there, he wasrude and said no. arg

A store and a care centre is not really the same thing. Look for a Nokia Care Centre, they should be able to order one(or have it in stock).
