media player problems,wait when change to the next song
 

Hi guys,

i just bought a nokia n900.

But i have some problems.
One of them is about song change in default media player. when song ends it waits about 0.5secs. and change song however it should like all other media players ( no wait ) . this is not good. i listen some albums which songs are related to next song. ( like 1 related to 2 ) . can it be fixed?
or another media player?

and, i have another situation. About playing videos. firstly i cant play mp4 files and mkv files( small mkvs. , 70-80 mb ). And some of video files ( mpeg ) frame rate is too low. They arent top quality so why they arent smooth ? i installed extra decoders,mplayer,kmplayer,sib. none of them can play video files as it should be. may be i m doing something wrong but is there any solution about my problem?

Nokia is aware of problems with music playback and media player they fixed it already , it gonna be available when PR 1.2 gets released

sometimes it also skips some songs or shuffle can get stuck


How do you know their quality? maybe bitrate is too high? try to change encoding to avi

OK. Now i m waiting for new release. when it will be released?

i think its bitrate is a bit high ( 4 min clip , 160mb) but n900 should play it?.

and you say solution of playing mp4 is encoding to avi?

finally, is there any alternatives like music player? ( i read something but i dont remember its name, ) are these alternatives better than default media player?

Aha? That's news to me. Quotes please?

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2796 is NOT fixed. And it will not be fixed for the next public release either as far as I know.

Ah, if you only refered to the MP4/MKV issue, that will be fixed in the next public update, true... :-)

so there is no fix about next song issue?
how can i solve it? there is no problem on debian , should i install debian packages to solve , or mplayer from console :) .

from this link , this bug fixed already. Maybe next release we ll see it. i m looking forward to it :).

now i looked at fixed bugs on PR1.2 at http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_5/PR1.2.

i cant believe my eyes. There are hundreds of fixed bugs but no gapless playback. May be this will be a suprise for us :).

how can it be? is this such a meanless bug? i think fixing isnt that hard. i can listen song using mplayer without gap. also it can be with using gstreamer. So whats the deal?
