screen started flickering on rotate
 

OK, something bad happened to my N900 few hours ago.

1. The full battery was drained within 3-4 hours. I can't remember any application running. And when I checked the phone was off.

2. The screen starts to flicker whenever phone is rotated. This happens every time phone application is running and it switches to portrait mode on rotate.

Screen can be brought back after opening the keyboard and pressing where the menu is supposed to be.

I haven't made any firmware changes on installed any software when it started happening. Oh yea, I'm on 3.2010.02-8.203.1



Anyone with this problem or any idea?

Looks like hardware malfunction..sorry for asking but maybe you dropped it?

did couple of times but a several days ago the last time :-) this problem however started happenining few hours ago.

it doesn't matter when it happened :) maybe the ribbon cable that connects screen to the base got damaged. If its under warranty I would suggest you take it to Nokia Care center if not use this video to open it. While opening you cane also fix loose slider which will likely to happen if you dropped it :D

ok. thanks. its under warrenty so will let those guys deal with it.

in the meantime is there a way to restrict phone app to landscape?
