Boot from MMC -> Crash on Nokia 770 Maemo 2.2

I precisely followed these instructions

http://maemo.org/maemowiki/HowTo_EAS..._From_MMC_card

two times :(.
I have the boot menu and can boot from flash and mmc, but if I
boot from mmc and if I try to open an application the device is doing a reset.
I can enter for example xterm for a few seconds before the restart happens.

Check this Wiki

http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ReportingRebootIssues

And post again with the output of /proc/bootreason and /var/lib/dsme/stats/lifeguard_resets

ok, I installd everything a 3rd time and I get:

Code:

mount mmc ...
... # cat proc/bootreason
sw_rst
... # cat var/.../stats/lifeguard_resets
/usr/bin/osso-media-server    : 1 *
... # cat var/.../stats/lifeguard_restarts
/usr/bin/osso-media-server    : 10 *

By the way. The crash happens even if I just wait a few seconds.

Hard to say what went wrong without more information. Either the cloning went bad and you have incomplete rootfs clone on mmc (i.e. you forgot to use GNU tar) or you cloned already broken system. If you really cloned something that is working in flash and not working on MMC and your copy is complete than we have unknown problem :-) If you want to troubleshoot this see https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=838 for description how to verify if you copy is exact.

The easiest way to have this working is to reflash with clean system and clone it before you break it with additional unstable packages.

Why cant we solve it here? I think in this forum should be enough knowledge.

What I did is to deinstall all apps which are perhaps connected with the media-server -> still crash

Next I commented out the line
Code:

source $LAUNCHWRAPPER_NICE_TRYRESTART $1 media-server /usr/bin/osso-media-server
in

Code:

/etc/osso-af-init/osso-media-server.sh
Now I can start from MMC ...
What can be wrong with the osso-media-server.
I had mplayer and canola installed.

Can I use apt-get to reinstall osso-media-server?
Any further suggestions how to fix this?
