Can't install programs/apps -> n900
 
I wonder if someone could help a linux noob with my n900 problem.

Suddenly I can't install any programs on my n900.

I got it back from service (dead mainboard), and after installing 2 apps I used to have before the service I get the error message "can't install program" (translated from my phone language, so actual error message could be different in English).

I get no details it just returns to app manager.

This now happens on all program I try to install, even after I uninstall the 2 ones i got installed and I try install them again..

I've tried http://mynokiablog.com/2010/01/05/fi...error-on-n900/ with no luck.

(Have now just the apps that is pre installed from factory, so available space is no problem)

anyone?

now i no longer get the "can't install program", i get "can't install xxxx. Install file is broken"???

This is on any apps I try installing..

..and I just found out that I can't save log file because "Documents" are write protected, and any where else give "operation failed".. :S

MyDocs got corrupt then, do you have rootsh installed?
If not, can you download and install this? http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p..._1.5_armel.deb
Just click on the link and it should say "Open in App Manager"
Hopefully it will use the /tmp or /var to download it.
After installing it, open terminal, type root then:

fsck.vfat -a /dev/mmcblk0p1
Then reboot the device.

If I should write is just as you posted, with space and everything i get:

-sh: fsck.vfat: not found

now alot of things happend, but still write protected and yet a new error message when trying to install: it starts download, when the dowload bar is finnished, "download faild" pops up.

third time is a charm, I can now both save log and install some apps, but still most of the apps end up with the same "can't install".

Is this because of the updated maemo?
I run v.3.2010.02-8

AND then it starts giving the "can't install xxxx. Install file is broken" instead of "can't install".. what happens with this??? -should I just reset the device or something??
