2 dead pixels on N900?
 

Never really noticed it but i put a pure black wallpaper on my phone and if i tilt it abit i can see two white dots at first i thought it was just on the wallpaper but nope its defo inside the screen... its not a problem as i cant notice them but wanting to know now are they going to get worse or nay? had the phone for like 2 3 months but its bout 6 months old as i brought it off a friend.

Healthcheck will help you find any more (Maemo downloads) - now has a lovely dead pixel tester in a range of lovely colours....

But you already know they are dead :(

Hard to tell if they will get worse, i hope not! - and so far no cases that i have read of them spreading!

healthcheck has a dead pixel checker option. won't tell you if its going to get worse but may help you tell just how bad it is.

I have two or more dead pixels left top of the screen and also a 2 mm string of nylon at the same place. I don't see the dead pixel and only the string if i have a white screen.

ok just ran test how do i tell though its just had list of colours i press them all now what?

they are toggle buttons - using RGB - so.... Red + Blue = etc.....
Just allows you to litterally test and see if they are broken, or stuck on certain colours etc.

(The Move R button will move the buttons to the right, to allow you to check the left side)

maybe its not even a dead pxel? on a black screen i can see at the top right a reallly small white dot only when i tilt it though if im looking directly at it i cant see it though

one option to get them back is to gently massage the areas with a warm cloth with them cycling on and off. Unsure how the touch screen will affect this but otherwise you've got 2 hopes for fixing this (bob, none)

well if they were dead they wouldn't switch colours like the rest of the screen. if you cant see dead pixels on a dead pixel test i wouldn't worry too much. and if you only see them when you tilt a certain way, dont tilt it that way!
