media player album art?
i have had it with the mediaplayer. I 1st copied all of the songs (about 1000 songs) into it. The prb is that it would display album art taken from other albums. I tried everything to change that and it is still showing the wrong album art.
I deleted all songs and added only 1 song and it still showed the wrong art. I tried to add it using windows mediaplayer and monkey mediaplayer, still doesnt work. i typed in the xtrerminal "tracker-processess -r". still doesnt. i tried to play the song wz mediabox and it shows the correct art. So the prb must be in the music player and not the song itself. can someone help me here plz? |
Re: media player album art?
The media player shows album art based purely on the album name, so if the same name is used by different artists (e.g. Various, Greatest Hits) then they'll all show the same album art.
The album art is also cached - see http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=33 for details of how to clear out the various cache locations. |
Re: media player album art?
i cant understand what is written in the link u gave. i am new to linux. can u plz explain more.
I also noticed 2 things. 1st if a song is changed while the screen is locked, when i unlock it, the right album art is shown. However if i try this when the phone is unlocked, it shows the wrong art again 2nd if i change the name of the album, the right art shows. so this proves exactly what u said, that The media player shows album art based purely on the album name. so can u plz help me here clear this link btw name of album and album aart. edit: i typed in sudo gainroot, then this showed up"enable rd mode if you want to break your device" I dont understand what this means, but i think it is totally unsafe |

Re: media player album art?
i have the music in a folder called "music" on the internal memory. so should i change this "find /home/user/MyDocs/.sounds -name .mediaartlocal | xargs rm -rf" to this "find /home/user/MyDocs/music -name .mediaartlocal | xargs rm -rf"
also am i breaking the device in any way, while i m doing this. I mean is it 100% safe? |
Re: media player album art?
ok i found an app called rootsh, installed it. when i type sudo gainroot in x-terminal i get "/home/user/ # ". Now should i type wat u wrote in da previous post?
again is this 100% safe what i m doing? |
Re: media player album art?
You should run this as the normal user - there's no need to be root at all (all the files are owned by the normal user).
And yes, change it to music if that's the folder name you've used. And finally yes, it's entirely safe (as long as it's typed in exactly as written - so double-check before pressing enter). |
