Re: help with - kernel power -
If you haven't reflashed your kernel then it won't do anything major, don't worry.
It can't overclock your phone on its own. root is admin in windows, ie the user thats allowed to install software and do a lot of other things. You'll need to install rootsh if you want to get to root. you don't have a problem, trust me. Plus if you ever do fancy overclocking 800 mhz creates only a few degrees more heat than stock speed, which is harmless as long as you don't run something that creates 100% cpu use continuousely. |
Re: help with - kernel power -
if you've installed rootsh by now, in an xterm window type:
sudo gainroot then you are logged in as root.... be careful, now you can break things |
Re: help with - kernel power -
zarf thanks for your help
what exactly do u mean by break things? all i need is to uninstall it how can i unroot myself after that? if it is possible... |
Re: help with - kernel power -
I mean you'll have access to delete things that could stop the phone working until you performed a usb reflash of the device.
you're perfectly safe doing the uninstall. once you close the xterm window you don't go back to being root until you type sudo gainroot again. sudo gainroot = log me in as root |
Re: help with - kernel power -
until you become root, you could wildly delete almost any fiile you liked and the phone would still work, but root has permission to change essential parts of linux
