Is there a native N810 app to convert videos ?
 

For on-device converting a video I need a (command line) tool. But I cannot find a Maemo / ARM version of neither ffmpeg nor mencoder.
And mplayer does not convert.
I want to convert from flv / mp4 to mp4 or ogv.

Does somebody know another tool ?

Yes, there is/was a version of mencoder compiled for n810.

May be somebody still keeps it (I had it, but unfortunately I deleted it)
Anyway, it's better to use a pc or you could die of old age waiting for it to convert a video.

Converting videos is a daunting task for even the best desktop processors. Why do you think a mobile device would handle it well?

Although, I was somewhat shocked to see that not only is it not being maintained (and it's closed-source AFAIK), but the download link is apparently gone! I saw at least one URL mentioned in one of the Bug Report threads that may or may not work for you...

I've used mencoder using Qole's EasyDebian.
Indeed, since it's not optimised (I even doubt if it makes use of VFP) - it takes ages to convert videos :) but it works.
