Nokia need to re-train the stores on the Nokia N900

I went into my local nokia store and proceded to ask him what he thought of the nokia n900 he turn round to me and basicaly said to me their s***.
He said half the things didnt work on it i asked for an example he said infared. I was sure i had seen a infared application and went on to say to him maybe it was a software fault that has been fixed now he laughed and that was the end of that.
I think maybe nokia should retrain there own staff on the latest firmware and at least get there staff on board the maemo/meego train.

I don't expect sales people to lie to customers, certainly. I expect them to be objective and informed about the products they sell.

Well the sales guy wasn't wrong then.

My wife wanted a new phone but went shopping with an open agenda and sought advice on suitable upgrades.

The kid in Carphone Warehouse only wanted to push iphone. She humiliated him by pointing out you can't change the battery, poor battery life & performance, poor camera with no flash, no physical keyboard, no FM radio, not customisable, etc., etc. and could she upgrade to N900?

The kid and his colleagues were totally dumbfounded, but said that N900 was an 'experimental' phone and not suitable for everyday use. One went on to say that Nokia was a spent force in the market...

They eventually sold her N97Mini - the phone she wanted in the 1st place!

I agree that the Nokia reps need to make sure salesfloor staff know their product, the apple reps are evidently on the ball.

I wouldn't recommend N900 to my parents or to my sister, or basically 90% of my relatives. N900 is not ready for "a common people".

Agreed. But a single customer is not a mass. It's the sales person's job to help the customer find the device that fits their individual needs.

If I was someone who had not been part of these devices' history, and just walked in as a fresh customer, I would still be drawn to the N900 over other devices based on what's good about it... and put up with (as I choose to) the bad.

Each to his or her own, right?
