Jabber N800

Hi everyone,

First apologies if this has been covered. I used the search facility but i could not find anything.

I have managed to get jabber to connect to a jabber server.

My problem is how does the IM facility work. When I click on a contact, which is an msn contact, I try to connect and I recieve an error "invalid address" what does this mean?

Under the contact details, there is a jabber field. Here I have entered http://msn.tuff.org.uk as my MSN protocol.

Can anyone please help

Many thanks

andrew

l don't think that you can connect to MSN using the Jabber protocol.

I am pretty sure I have read somewhere as long as you have an msn transport you can use jabber as your IM client.

GAIM will not work with my N800. It logs me in fine, then within seconds the application closes, plus you cannot really use the camera and voice with it.

Re: Jabber N800

It is possible, I'm using both ICQ and MSN through the same Jabber account.

http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=2137

Read that thread for more information on how to do it.

Basically, it boils down to this:
1. Get a Jabber account at one of the numerous places on the net that provides one.
2. Register with that newly created Jabber account at an MSN transport (search the net)
3. Enter your Jabber account information into the account settings on the Nokia.
4. Set your presence to "On"
