The World's Biggest Signpost

I have just stumbled upon a great Nokia ad campaign that took place in London recently. That's such an amazing idea!
Take a look:

Did you happen to experience this awesome 'event'?

Cheers,
Ralph

They're not caring for their customers in this case, they're advertising. Customers are people who have already bought your product.

Would have been cooler if it was all powered by a single N900 connected to the crane and signpost. :p

1. What a great (marketing) idea.
2. How come we're only hearing about it now?
3. Agree 100% with GameboyRMH. This does nothing to show about how much Nokia cares about their customers. But it does increase their brand recognition and 'value' (how they're perceived).

ps: They use Apple's Mac version of Safari as the browser in that video?

2. I know, it is weird for me as well. Such a high scale marketing project and I have heard about it today on the web by accident really. Thought its definitely worth sharing.

ps: Well, it looks like it.

I find this comment very very interesting..

Even though we (existing Nokia customers) do not get any direct benefit from this stunt, but what Nokia is doing here is appreciated by many people here. Why?

Brand value? Prestige?
Indication that Nokia is investing more in 'our future'?

Prestige all the way, but hey this Nokia show-off is actually very original and cool. Imagine the results of announcing a party using this medium ;D
