Problem installing mobile maps

Hiya guys i have a bit of a strange problem and i hope you can help.

Ive just downloaded the sygic mobile maps application for my n900 from the ovi store and all seemed fine. the file downloaded over wifi fine and went through the installation without issues but the application isnt showing anywhere on my phone.

ive checked everywhere i can think of and tried reinstalling but still no joy. Any ideas guys?

i dont know where you look but..

1) go into more screen to see if its there
2) modify desk top and add shortcut to see if it is there.

Please note I think downloading the app is great but you still need to purchase the map.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Ive tried both and still no sign of it. the only place it shows up is the uninstaler in app manager.

makes no sense to me. I wanted to try the 7 day trial to see if i get this to save me having to spend more on a full on satnav.

I had the same problem - You have only loaded the maps :( Go back to the site and click down on the links and you will find the actual application - Must admit it is not clearly laid out or documented you have to load both bits.

Thanks for explaining what was going on with that app, I had exactly the same problem!

It's fairly stupid, yet sadly unsurprising, that there is no explanation on the OVI store that a user has to download the application and the relevant map set to get this to work.

Well maybe the next person to be confused will be lucky enough to find this thread!
