can someone make a Cover Flow media Player?
 

I was wondering if its possible to make a Apple's Coverflow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_Flow) like interface to n900 media player or a new media player. It would be awesome coz of n900's resolution. Or if someone gives me some basic start, I would like to make one.

PS: Coverflow is patented for Apple, but we can think alike.. right?

Ya that wld be cool. Saw a similar one in the N8 videos and also on couple of HTC models

Yes it looks good but in practice, it doesn't really add any ease of use. Much quicker to scroll down a grid display of album art.

Cover flow = Pretty but slow navigation through a large library.

So instead of hopping to get a decent Media Player in N900 I should buy the N8?

see the wikipedia article on Cover_Flow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_Flow) It has listed some open source implementation on cover flow

It's planned for a future version of the open source mediaplayer, probably as a QML widget.
Or we could use some of PictureFlow's code, it already runs nicely (cept for the lack of kinetic scrolling).
