Help Flashing on Vista?
Anyone got any advice for flashing my device on Vista? I've altered the compatability for the flasher .exe to XP but doesn't seemed to have helped. I run the cmd for flashing but nothing seems to happen.
Cheers. |

Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
i ended up doing it through a vmware machine, bridging the USB connections over to the Ubuntu virtual operating system.

Is there another way? Nothing too complicated! |
Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
The first thing you should try is just running The Nokia Software Update program on your Vista computer. Mine updated to a newer version and seemed to work just fine with Win7, so would probably work with Vista also.

Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
Will that work if i'm just reinstalling the same fw?

Also, NSU doesn't seem to want to work using the laptop? Does it need to be a PC?

Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
Run Maemo Flasher 3.5 from the start menu. Doesn't work any other way on my Vista 32 bit lappy. Flashed my N900 a few times now no problem.

Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
Just doesn't want to work!
I opened the flasher from the start menu, typed in the correct text: flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R Then windows asks to allow the action, I do so, then nothing happens. Another command line just appears below the one i've typed...frustrating! |
Re: Help Flashing on Vista?
So you're in the Terminal.
Are you sure that you are in the correct directory where the executable file "flasher-3.5.exe" is located? Can you post the exact output here? Another idea; I quote Venomrush: "According to this post ( http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...9&postcount=67 ), windows driver signing can cause problems. You either need to turn on the loading of unsigned drivers or boot your computer to whole another OS." |
