[Proof of Concept] Control mediaplayer on N900 with LIRC
1 Attachment(s)
Ok,
I wanted to control my n900 from the couch when it's connected to my tv / stereo (for playing vids/mp3's) but the N900 doesn't have an IR receiver.. so it's impossible to control the n900 directly with a remote... this didn't stop me; i For this to work you need: Linux box with Lirc Receiver N900 attached lircrc Lirc on n900 I start the lirc daemon on the linux box with extra parameters: Code:
--listen=IPOFTHELINUXBOX PORTNR /etc/lirc/lircd.conf -d /dev/lirc0 -o /dev/lircd now if i start lirc with following on the n900 (when connected to local wlan) Code:
lircd --connect=IPOFTHELINUXBOX PORTNR (see attachement) Now if i run irexec i can controll the n900 mediaplayer with a remote :D still need to clean this up, i wan't irexec and lirc with the --connect parameter to autostart when i run lirc, i only can get it to work when i play music etc etc. but for now it works... |
