Chrome OS will basically be based on Chromium OS but with Google branding + apps, at least that's how it is with Chrome, IIRC.

What I am wondering is there is a mode on Gspace that is called drive mode. It looks like from what I have been reading it can be used as an online hard drive one can boot a cloud OS from like the awaited Chromium OS in the video. I guess??

I think you will have to install a small base system basically consisting of the Chrome interface, but I have not read very much about Chrome OS, so I'm not really sure. I guess files, documents and other stuff you create will be uploaded to Gspace.

The way I understand it Chromium OS is the Chrome browser+small Linux kernel that will be hosted in Gspace Drive Mode?? We will be able to boot this cloud OS from some Google app/portal or Gspace drive mode. Here is a way to test this small Linux OS and make it bootable from usb drive or using the N800 booting it from Windows http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/

I read about it some time ago, and IIRC you will have access to stuff offline, the Base OS will be available, installed applications and Gmail, Greader, Gdocs etc. Basically it will have Google Gears integrated. I really don't know if this has changed though.

On a side note Callabero - thans for the .deb for Minefield. I've been playing with it for a few days now and am starting to take to it. Nice ways to customize it through extensions and the tabs are the kind of tabs that Opera, in my mind, should had implemented.

Its the browser we should all be trying to perfect its the one with all the Bling!! I don't know why it gets no attention from the community.
I have been waiting to hear from the N900 bunch to see if they can install it and how it runs on their device. It crashes on my N800 at times but tweaking the speed and all the addons has made it workable.
