Change SMS Notification Sound when Media Player is on
 

Hello,
I hope this is a stupid question and easily solved, but is there a way to change the sms notification sound when the media player is running? I have configured a loud and annoying sound via the profiles menu but when the media player is running I just get a short low beep sound when a sms arrives.
As I need to get woken up by monitoring sms and often fall asleep with the media player still running this is is really an issue for me.

Might be possible with dbus interception when the mediaplayer is running.

How about installing "Sleeper" to stop the music after you have fallen asleep?

music should be muted whilst ringtone is played at proper volume

Thanks for the suggestion, I just ran some tests and this would be at least a workaround as it seems to play the normal notification sound while the media player is on pause. From what I read Sleeper is not able to completely stop the media player but only pause it right?

Does anyone know where the beep that gets played when the media player is running comes from? The quick and dirty solution would probably be to just replace the soundfile with a louder sound.

Thought I'd bring this up again as I still don't have a really good solution. I don't know what Sleeper actually does but when the timer runs out and an SMS is received the N900 also just plays back the short beep. When I set the mediaplayer on pause manually the configured SMS notification is played though.
Right now I'm using the Canola player that plays the configured SMS sound during playback but I'd prefer the standard mediaplayer.

I bring this up again. When I listen to music (via headset) and friends
writing something in a chat group I hear this annoying beep all the time.
The IM tone is set to the lowest value. I don't hear any sound if the
media player is not running or if I set the "silent" profile. But this is
no option for me cause I want to hear if somebody call me.

Please help me.
