How do i get gtalk to work on my N900?

I tried searching other topics couldnt find any. I'm using the pidgeon plug-in and what not and skype and MSN (haze) works fine but when I try to log on to gtalk it doesnt log in at all . It tries but then it fails and I tried millions of way to get it right but cant. So is there some other app or some other way to get it work?

user name should be your full email address (username@gmail.com)

Otherwise it should work normally.

Gtalk should work fine out of the box, when you set up the account remember to use "username@gmail.com".
You shouldn't need any plugins to get this to work.
