Using a dial String with n900
After many searches I have been unable to get my SIP working for outbound calls, It does work though for inbound.
These are the settings they gave me: These are the SIP settings for your FreePhoneLine account. Customer Number: 89123 (please note that this is for your reference only and is not for device purposes) SIP Username: 14165551212 SIP Password: 11A1Aabc Inbound/Outbound Proxy: voip.freephoneline.ca Registration Expires: 180 to 3600 Use Preferred Codec: G729a Use Preferred Codec Only: No RTP Packet Size: 0.020 Ring Tone Frequency: 52 Ring Tone Voltage: 90 Recommended Dial String: (911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.) (please note that this is a Linksys dial string we use for our devices and may not work with third party, non-Linksys/Sipura devices) Anyways I changed user and password, I think it has something to do with the dial plan. Can anyone shed some light on a fix for this, thank You. Philippe, Toronto, Canada |
Re: Using a dial String with n900
Can you get it working on a different device than the N900?

What did you put in the fields in the SIP account on the N900?

Re: Using a dial String with n900
Hey Gerald..
under address I put in 14165551212@voip.freephoneline.ca Password, the password that was given to me 11A1Aabc Enabled (checked) Under advanced settings User name is 14165551212 Transport: Auto Outbound Proxy: voip.freephoneline.ca Port 5060 Discover Public Address (checked) Loose Routing (unchecked) but I have tried both to no avail Keep Alive mechanism: Auto Keep Alive Period: Auto Auto detect Stun (Checked) Keep in mind I changed the username and password, but you see the format, if you see first msg, you can see the settings page they provided me to get this thing to work.. Thanks |
Re: Using a dial Plan with n900
Have you tried it without the outbound proxy? And without the username (one that that is just the phone number)? And without both?

Re: Using a dial Plan with n900
I have, just tried it again, deleted entry and just added user name and password, still can not make the call, but I am able to receive a call.
I was wondering maybe if there is a way to enter the dial string. so basically leaving all the advanced stuff to default and just entering username and pass I am able o receive a call, but I can not make an outgoing call. Thanks |
Re: Using a dial Plan with n900
Without a dial plan you should still be able to make calls. When you make a call from the N900 what happens? Do you have the paid service or the free one? Is the N900 behind a different firewall than the ATA router you used? Can you call voice mail (*98) from the N900?
I will run out ideas soon. |
Re: Using a dial Plan with n900
I can not call voicemail, tried *98, ring, then says Phone disconnected.
the n900 is behind a firewall and opend all the ports but still does not work. Tried calling another number that I have to see if it will even ring but it does not. Even though I hear the phone ringing(from the n900),while it is ringing, the other phone that I dialed does not even ring, not once), the other phone just does not ring. I am able to dial from the other phone into the 900 with no probs. |
Re: Using a dial Plan with n900
Time to ask freephoneline.ca or try their forums. :( Sorry I could not help.
