My N900 doesn't receive files via bluetooth
 

I have had my N900 for about 3 months now and I must say i have been enjoying except for a problem it doesn't receive files via Bluetooth even when paired with another N900.
Is this a problem or thats how its made someone please answer me.

I enjoy the bluemaemo a lot and other applications but i get bored when i cant receive files via Bluetooth.

I believe OP's problem is quite diffferent from yours. You'd like to elaborate with more details so that we could help. ;)

Same problem here guys. Any help would be appreciated.

A few more details I can give:

I'm trying to send files over Bluetooth between my Nokia N900 and an LG Rumor 2.

The devices see each other and the pairing proceeds no problem. But, if I try to send a file from the LG Rumor 2 to the N900, the "Bluetooth" icon on the N900 lights up for just a second, then goes white again. The LG Rumor 2 then shows "Failed to send file", but no additional error information.

I also tried sending a file from the N900 to the LG Rumor 2, but that failed as well.

I've tried paring the LG Rumor 2 with another LG Rumor 2 and they could share files back and forth no problem.

I'm still running pr1.2, just FYI ( 1.3 won't update OTA for me :( ) is there a bug opened for Bluetooth against that version?

Also, anyone know if maybe there's a way to enable bluetooth logging, or where a log file might be so I can get more data?

Any advice you might have would be great.

Thanks for your reply. According to the N900 user guide:

On Page 40 it says that Sending and Receiving of files over Bluetooth *should* be supported out of the box.

As for Petrovich, is this the application you are talking about?

It looks like it's purpose is to help send files over Bluetooth, not receive, which is not what I'm trying to do (although that didn't work either).

Also, Petrovich appears to just be a front end to the standard Bluetooth sending program, since I already have a "Send via Bluetooth" button when I click a picture in the camera viewer, but it looks like Petrovich is more for arbitrary files (which is neat).

Nevertheless, I can give it shot for receiving. In the meantime if anyone else has any ideas let me know! Thanks.

i have a similar issue. difference is i can send files from my mac and other enabled devices to the phone..but can not send from the phone.i never had petrovitch and if i remember this use to work before. im using ker. pow 47 plus cssu and speed patch.
