N900 USB Networking and "DUMMY" device

Hello,

I followed the instruction on the Wiki page for N900 USB Networking and it worked OK, but I have a problem with the configuration of the IAP "DUMMY" (after installation of libicd-network-null). It seems that whenever my GPRS/3G connection drops, the "DUMMY" null connection appears as connected (even when my cellphone is not plugged into anything) and this is a nuisance. Is there any way to remedy this?

On a side note, I've noticed that there is a plugin called "libicd-network-usb". Are the instructions on the wiki page deprecated in favor of that? I searched for information on the null plugin and the USB network plugin and couldn't find anything relevant.

Is autoconnection enabled for your dummy connections? What is the output from the commands:

gconftool -g /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect
gconftool -R /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect

Pc-Connectivity applet has design flaws, don't know where to start reporting them.

Code:

[user@n900 user]% gconftool -R /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect
 /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect/60_wlan:
  network_types = [WLAN_INFRA]
  label = conn_set_fi_conn_set_wlan
  not_found_banner = conn_ib_net_no_saved_wlan_iaps
  gettext_catalog = osso-connectivity-ui
 /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect/65_gprs:
  network_types = [GPRS]
  label = %s
 /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect/01_always_ask:
  network_types = []
  label = conn_set_fi_conn_set_always_ask
  gettext_catalog = osso-connectivity-ui
 /system/osso/connectivity/ui/auto_connect/90_any:
  network_types =[*]
  label = conn_set_fi_conn_set_any
  not_found_banner = conn_ib_net_no_saved_iaps
  gettext_catalog = osso-connectivity-ui
[user@n900 user]%
[user@n900 user]% gconftool -g /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect[*]

I think this is the problem. I see:
Code:

N900:~# gconftool -g /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect
[WLAN_INFRA]

Maybe try setting it with:
gconftool -s /system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect -t list --list-type string "[WLAN_INFRA]"

Thanks, I'll try this solution. Another way to activate it is through setup, network connections, instead of any you select only wireless to be autoconnected.
