Can I make conferance call with the n900? Please advice

Sure you can. During an active call just tap on 'Phone' at the top of the screen and select 'Add call to contact' or 'Add call to number' from the drop-down menu. This is covered in the User's Guide.

When I made it, the system holds the another call. It is not working. please advice

yes the system holds the call which is active.after you have connected to the new call again you have to tap 'phone' at the top and start conference call.
