Well IMHO the problem is not in the number of updates, rather than their frequency.
The good thing about Open Source is that bugs usually get fixed fast.
Sadly the N900 platform is not truly Open Source... that is why you should never expect good bug fixes in timely manner...
Either get used to it or change the brand ;)
