Where are my apps when I install them
Hi Guys,
need some help on this....i have installed quite a few apps but i can't seem to find them in the main menu.....i can see those in the app manager when i wish to uninstall them....but not all of them show up in the menu?? Am i missing something here? thx in advance |
Re: Where are my apps when I install them
Some applications are widgets, so you only find them in the add widget dialogue, and some are plugins that only show up in their specific application. For example im plugins (like pecan) and sharing plugins (like pixelpipe) are like those. Some applications show up in a menu somewhere and some applications simply work in the background.

Re: Where are my apps when I install them
espeak is a command-line application only, so doesn't show up in the menu.

Re: Where are my apps when I install them
It should have the "commandline overlay" on the icon then.

It does. .

All CLI apps should have the CLI badge in the application manager list. If one of the apps does not, it's a bug, and should be reported to the application maintainer, so (s)he can fix it :) |

Ask and you shall receive... but seek first in case you may find!
Welcome on board. We all started with questions... The search bar is usually a good place to start (although I will say ours isn't the world's best!), and if the search turns nothing up, ask - as you just did. Once again, Welcome to the world of Tux! |
