Stop vibration when device boots

Hello is there anyway to prevent the N900 from vibrating when it turns on/boots up? I assume that if the vibration could be disabled then maybe rebooting the N900 wouldn't be such a drain on the battery. Any ideas or info on this would be great!

It only vibrates for a very short time. That's pretty insignificant source of battery drain in the bootup process.

we would probs need somekind of hack to get at the nokia part of the phone thats not open source, then maybe we could change the splashscreen too!
but some people seem to think all that info will never be accessable,
i dont know either way, cos im a n00b with this device/os

It only vibrates on start up if vibrate option is selected on profile before powering off.

Vibration has nothing to do with battery drain. Turning on N900 is like turning on a PC. It goes through the same procedure to load all files, libraries , verify hardware etc... CPU is running at 100% and there is an extensive read operations from RAM. So even if you disable vibration ( which I think is just an indicator that means you can remove your finger from power button) battery drain wont be affected

I recommend you to ONLY reboot it when necessary. When not, use "Offline mode" or the "Tablet mode" button on that applet.
