yep , go to settings click on top and choose clear device ( works in PR 1.2 only)

What do you mean? Clear the entire device without flashing?

I never tried that option but I'm guessing it will wipe content of home/user/ there is also an option restore original settings not sure what that will do either :)

Read instructions here on how to "upgrade your firmware", AKA, replace your phone's software with an image of a newer software version:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware

Basically you can also apply the image of your current phone's firmware version, resulting in a cleanup of everything installed on your phone.
