Android app brings in $13K a month
Android app brings in $13K a month
It's not just iPhone developers who get rich One Android developer is earning more than $400 a day from his find-your-car application, proving it's not just Apple fans who'll pay for basic apps. Much has been made of the millions awaiting those who decide to develop for Apple's iPhone: the UK government even sponsored a help guide. But Google fans will be pleased to hear that there's money in Android too with one developer reporting earnings topping $13,000 a month for an application that remembers where you've parked your car. read the full story here in The Register website. source: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03...id_app_profit/ Hope this story incentives developers on n900 also. |

Re: Android app brings in $13K a month
Two-edged sword...
|
Re: Android app brings in $13K a month
How is that a two-edged sword?
To my knowledge, no other Maemo based or Ovi Store app (Sygic excluded) that is pulling in high numbers as such. This shows that other platforms are as viable as some others in terms of products offered through their respective app stores. To me, this is a very good thing and one day a Maemo/MeeGo dev will be able to say the same thing. |
Re: Android app brings in $13K a month
is there that many dumba55 out the who forget where they park their car that much that they need an app?

Re: Android app brings in $13K a month
@gerbick: oh, It was directed at the comparison between easypark (which I assumed to be free/OSS) vs the commercial android app.

The register. Who still reads that. Anyway ... Trust me this is not the norm in the android world. Most devs do not get rich, hell most of them are lucky to get enough to keep up with the new devices. I know I didnt.
