Phone suddenly refusing to accept SIM card
 

As the title says... using my phone one minute - no SIM card detected the next. I've tried the usual put paper/tape behind it, reseat it.. even tried an old SIM card lying around and it won't work.

Could this be a software issue? Tell me its a software issue? :'( I'll reflash if it is.

I basically spent about 2 hours taking the SIM cards out, putting them in.. but it simply wouldn't recognize anything...

Bump. Just reflashed and it hasn't fixed it...

HELP!!

Not under warranty in any way, shape or form.. so I'm on my own here!

is it on vodafone uk. had same problem with mine bout a month ago. foned vodafone and for some reason my fone had been barred. asked if id reported it lost or stolen and told them no. they appologised and they lifted the bar but took 6 days to sort. hope this helps...

Nar I'm not on Voda.... but it seems I've discovered my issue. The seperate SIM card I tried was also faulty (I pulled it out of a draw) so it turns out its the SIM... now I have to wait 3 days for my operator to send me a new SIM card.

they sent me a new sim too saying it was probably a faulty simcard, but foned them back afta trying sim in another fone and it found it worked. foned them back to see if it was barred for any reason and after they checked said it was the fone that was barred so no simcard would work in it till barr lifted.

did u try to clean the simcard with a cloth or something
and then inserting in the phone?
